Super Bowl betting squares are a popular method for setting up a fun and simple betting pool for the Super Bowl. Nobody has to be an expert bettor to play, so you can include whoever you want. Plus, you can have as few as two people and as many as 100 all betting in the same Super Bowl betting chart. Download and print our Super Bowl prop sheet and squares sheet below, as well as more suggestions from Stuckey. Super Bowl Sunday is arguably the best betting holiday of the year. And after talking about the side, over/under and the never-ending props for what seems like a month now, the action hardly stops after the opening kick.

If you have ever been to a Super Bowl watching party, you are almost surely very familiar with squares. The game is most often played on Super Bowl Sunday, but there’s no reason you can’t play squares during every NFL or college football game. Now, at MyBookie, you can do exactly that.

Betting on football has never been bigger, especially in the United States. The Supreme Court’s decision to strike down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in May of 2018 effectively cleared the way for states to decide on their own whether or not to legalize and regulate sports betting. Several states have done just that in the months since the decision, and more will follow in the coming months and years.

Obviously, that’s a good thing if you’re someone that likes to bet on football. MyBookie has been one of the industry leaders when it comes to NFL and Super Bowl betting offerings for years, and it’s never too late to get started. There are still a few weeks to go until Super Bowl 54, so what better time than now to sign up and start buying your squares in advance of the big game?

How do Squares Work?

Let’s say you’re interested in putting some money on the Super Bowl, but you’re not totally sure how squares work. Fortunately, you’ve come to the right place. While betting on football does require some skill, playing squares is much more of a game of chance. If you’re playing, all you have to do is select whichever squares you want to buy. Then, all you have to do is let the cards fall where they may, which is essentially random.

As is the case with your traditional game of football squares, MyBookie has a 10-by-10 chart with 100 available spaces. Each axis of the grid is accompanied by the numbers 0 through 9, which represent the scores of the football game you’re watching. Let’s use the AFC Championship matchup between the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs as an example. The grid is laid out as follows:

The numbers at the top of each row and column will not be unveiled until the game begins, which keeps things fair. Knowing which numbers you’re purchasing ahead of time would obviously present an unfair advantage. As you can see, squares that have already been purchased by other players are off limits.

How Much Does it Cost to Play?

At MyBookie there are several different pricing tiers available for each game. For example, this particular contest features a buy-in of $24. That means each square you purchase will cost you $24, and players are allowed to purchase as many squares as they would like. Obviously, the more squares a player buys, the better his or her chances are of ultimately winning the prize.

That’s just one example, though. MyBookie offers contests starting as low as just $0.75 per square. The highest buy-in comes at $115 per square. Getting started with squares is incredibly simple, and all you have to do is follow the steps listed below:

Squares

• Log into your MyBookie account
• Deposit any necessary funds into your account
• Click on the Contests tab, which is listed in the navigation bar at the top of the page
• Choose the MyBookie Squares contest, which will take you into the contest lobby
• Choose the game that best fits the amount you wish to risk

How Do You Win?

As is the case with the traditional game, MyBookie’s squares contest will ultimately pay out 4 winners for each game. The person whose square has the correct last number of each team’s score at the end of each of the game’s 4 quarters will win. For example, if your square includes both the number 4 on the Titans side and the number 3 on the Chiefs side, you will win if the score at the end of a given quarter is 14-3, 24-13, 34-33 or any similar combination. The only requirement is that the Titans’ score contains a 4 as the last digit, while the Chiefs’ score has to contain a 3 in this particular example.

The squares you choose to purchase are your squares for the entire game. So, don’t call it a day if you don’t happen to cash in on any of your squares after the first quarter. You will still have another 3 chances to win.

The prize pools are a bit different for each quarter, however. MyBookie’s contest makes it so that 20 percent of the entire prize pool is paid out at the end of each quarter. The person holding the winning square at the end of the game is the big winner. The fourth quarter winner earns the remaining 40 percent of the prize pool.

Let’s use our aforementioned example again. There is a prize pool of $2,000 for the 100-square contest with an entry fee of $24. That means the winner at the end of each of the game’s first three quarters will win $400. The square that accounts for the game’s final score nets an $800 top prize. Obviously, the prize pools vary depending on how big the entry fee is for that particular contest. The prize pool for the $115-per-entry game is significantly higher than the prize pool for the $0.75-per-entry contest.

There is no limit on the number of times a single person can win. While incredibly unlikely, it’s not impossible for the same person to win the prize in all 4 quarters. All 100 squares do not need to fill in order for a contest to run, as planned.

Winnings will be deposited into your MyBookie account as quickly as possible. If you want to enjoy a different way to bet on the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl 54, MyBookie has you covered.

Superbowl Squares: How They Work and Where You Can Bet Them Online

While reading some articles, forums and emails I kept running into the same question… “Where can I bet Superbowl squares online?” We have the answer and lucky for you, one of the best sportsbooks on the web offers this wager. That’s important because you wouldn’t want to send your hard earned loot into cyberspace to somebody that doesn’t have a good track record.

With that being said, you can find Superbowl squares from $3.30 to $275 at MyBookie Sportsbook. This is a GREAT online sportsbook and has a very solid track history and is a company that tops our recommended betting sites list.

For those of you not familiar with how Superbowl squares work, we’ll explain what they are:

Draw a big square on a piece of paper. Now draw 9 lines horizontally and 9 lines vertically. (left to right and top to bottom). This will give you a grid-like box with 100 squares in it. Often times somebody in your office will start one of these and sell spots for anywhere from .25 cents to 1.00. Sometimes more, if you work in an office full of highly paid employees lol. Each person puts their initials in a box. Once you’ve got your 100 squares filled, you will draw numbers from 0-9 and list them across both the top and down the left side. Lastly, you list a team name on the left and the other team on the top.

When playing “squares”, only the digit furthest to the right matters for scoring purposes. Let’s take a look at an example:

So let’s say you have the Kansas City Chiefs on the top and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the left side. Let’s say the final score of the game is Chiefs 33 and Buccaneers 30. You would look at the Chiefs side of the paper which is at the top, then go to the 3 since their last digit is 3. Then you go to the left side and look for the zero. Use your fingers to find where the two coordinates meet and whoever’s name is in that box wins the pot.

There’s other ways to do prizes too. Some office pools use the final score at the end of each quarter and create 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarter smaller prizes with the bigger prize being the final score.
